Bungai Terung "BorneoRose"

As Known as “Bungai Terung” In Iban Language.

Why I choose borneo rose..??

Iban wear a Borneo Rose for generation, base on true story from late great grandfather. One of the cultures that I need to continue.

The Meaning of Borneo Rose

The spirals in the middle are meant to symbolize the life cycle. Some villages say that it originally came from the spirals on the belly of tadpoles (Anak Memuri), and when you actually go find a tadpole, you can see this pattern. The Borneo Rose is supposed to guard the wearer from evil spirits. Each tattoo on different parts of the body are for different purposes. They used to tattoo the hands if they were headhunters, and so on.

Some villages say that “Bungai Terung” design is actually the stylized eye of a mythical dog creature associated with protection from evil.

I love to put red, yellow and black color to the borneo rose. Like the image on the background on this website.

Combination with Borneo Rose +  and Sarawak Flag Color.
